Normal Service Restored!

The crucial news'n'views of Eleven Devils return this morning to find the well-fed Brazilian team leading Ghana's National Diving Squad 2-0, which is good news in my book and bad news for the legion of Black Stars bandwagoneers. Sheesh—some people will fall for anything wrapped in Bob Marley colors.

There is much to report, so watch this space, oh faithful reader(s). In the meantime, let's all hope that France v. Spain can erase the farcical memory of Portugal v. Netherlands and (what sounds like—I mercifully missed most of it) the exercise in torturous futility that put Ukraine into the quarterfinals. My money is on la Furia Roja.

So if I root for Brazil it's ok because I'm rooting for beautiful football, but if I root for Ghana I'm on the bandwagon? Bollox on Brazil and all of their fake fans. Brazil's second goal was offside anyway.

Welcome back, Z! So, what do you think: Are the refs more attrocious than the ESPN announcers, or what?

That's the spirit, Lucas! We like to see that kind of fire here on XIDev.

As to the clowns with the whistles, it's really been amazing, though maybe not to those of us who occasionally watch MLS and USL games, which are typically exhibitions of just how bad a ref can screw up a game. Come to think of it, how ridiculous is it that no American referee was invited, for reasons of quality, supposedly, and we ended up with this crew?
