As the Big United prepares for today's clash in Moscow, the Other United, rebel breakaway punk football exemplar FC United of Manchester, is celebrating its third promotion in a row. I can't wait for this Cup derby somewhere down the line.
rather sweetly, FCUM fans tend to call MUFC "big United", since very few of them can wholly alienate their affections from their former club. I went and stood in their end at their pre-season friendly at AFC Wimbledon last year, and they still sing loads of old Utd songs (to George Best and so on).
